Review: Embassy Suites Fallsview, Niagara Falls ON

For Valentine's Day, C and I decided to go skiing and also visit Niagara Falls.  So for that weekend we went up north and today I am enjoying the beautiful view from our Embassy Suites hotel at Niagara Falls, ON.  We chose this hotel out of the many choices because I had read great things about the view it provides of both falls.

As can be seen, it is very majestic even in winter.  The hotel is roughly the same distance (or closer) than the other hotels around it.  During the warmer time, there is a incline rail right by the hotel, but currently it is closed.  So we had to head down to Murray St to get to the falls.

The hotel is very close to another attraction, the Casino, which allowed us to visit it at night without becoming popsicles.  However, it is not even close to Clifton Hills.  The walk would have been 30+ minutes and considering how cold it was, we decided to skip.

The hotel room itself was very large, as I expected from an Embassy Suites...

Two notes of disappointment, the receptionist who greeted us was very sour.  She had little patience to talk with us, which left me surprised.  I have honestly not met such a sour receptionist.  Plus we asked for toothpaste and shaving cream from housekeeping.  It took them two trips to get us everything we needed.  However, they did have a lot of complementary products to offer, so all is forgiven.
The layout of the room consist of a living room and bedroom, which are connected by a bathroom/hallway.  The living room area has a couch and TV.  This would be nice for people with kids or extended stay.  However for one night and two people, we did not find much use for it.  The main bedroom is separated from the living room by the bathroom and has its own TV.

As the bathroom suite pictures show, it consists of a jacuzzi and separate toilet and shower room.  It is a very interesting layout, in my opinion.  As if you more than just a private party of two, the jacuzzi can be awkward to use.  Since anyone in the bedroom area can potentially see you through the frosted window.

Now the products and basic information on services...
Bathroom product: Crabtree & Evelyn
     - Avocado, Olive and Basil shampoo, conditioner and body lotion
     - Avocado, Olive and Basil body and face soap
Pretty good, as always Avocado is probably great for my hair.  Just not a huge fan of the scent.
     - They have a full range of complimentary products, including toothpaste.
Coffee: Higgins & Burke "Passage to Colombia"
Bed: Very comfortable with 3 pillows per Queen sized bed
Possibly due to having gone skiing and such but I slept beautifully
Internet: 9.95CAD per device for 24 hrs.  Free wi-fi in the lobby (and 6 computers)
This price is kind of surprisingly great to me.  Especially the per device part of the pricing but the speed was good.  However, I am discouraged from staying here again for that outrageous pricing model.
Continental Breakfast:
Like any other Embassy Suites there is a warm continental breakfast.  The food choices consisted of the standard: egg, french toast sticks, home fries, sausage links, bacon, white toast (did not see wheat or bagels), english muffin, cereal, yogurt (strawberry & vanilla), fruits (banana, apple, oranges, halved grapefruit).  There are 3 omelete-making lines.  You can get the buffet selection there as well!!!  The lady who made my omelete was very efficient and nice and made delicious omelete.

  1. Hi Camili:
You review is very helpful to me because I'm planning the same trip as you, but I just have a question: in what floor were you? Because i have to decide in what floor I should stay with a great view (as yours) but I don't trust too much in pictures at hotel's website, thank you.
