Review: Airspeed Bagless Zuum by eureka!

After C broke the spring for our old Dirt Devil vacuum, we have been on the lookout for a good (affordable) vacuum.  Our little Dirt Devil was actually pretty good in picking up Teddy's fur.  We've read "Real Simple" and all sorts of website on their ranking of affordable vacuum, but those were always vacuums over $100.  This Eureka! Airspeed Zuum was $89 at Target.
Here's my impression (8 out of 10):
  • Assembly was not difficult, but the bottom suction hose connection has to be checked.  There is no latch, so it just has to be pushed tight.  When you receive it, it looks like it is already connected, but in reality it was not.  So you just have to make sure that is done, or else the dirt is blown back onto the floor.
  • Canister space is not much more than our Dirt Devil, so I suspect we'll need to empty frequently.
  • Maneuverability is so smooth.  It does feel almost Dyson in how easily it glides across our floor.  Disclaimer: we have almost no carpet in our place.
  • Suction was very good, we could see it picking up both small fur and large pieces.  There was no need to bend over and pick up bigger pieces.  It was awesome to watch Teddy's fur get sucked in!
  • Cord length was much longer, so we could do quite a bit of the house from one outlet.
  • Appearance is very nice, you can see from assembly it that it does not seem to be cheap material.
  • After vacuuming, we always dry Swiffer the floor.  {Teddy's fur is truly difficult & under areas the vacuum cannot reach} Usually the Swiffer sheet is still covered when we go through the whole house.  This time the Swiffer sheet was relatively uncovered.
