Recently Teddy has been bored with his older toys and constantly looking to me to keep him entertained. At the same time, work has gotten a little more hectic. So I have decided to try out a "puzzle" toy to see if it will distract Teddy. Enter: Kyjen Dog Game Hide-A-Squirrel Extreme. You have probably see different types of hide squirrel toys, but this one has Teddy totally addicted.
Enjoyment: 4.5/5
Durability: 4/5
Danger: Nonexistent
While the toy is kind of a puzzle, Teddy will throw it around and just play with it. Especially since he has solved the "puzzle" of how to get the squirrel out. (Hint, you have to stick your nose into the top opening and get a hold of the squirrel. Then pull out your nose while still holding onto the squirrel). If this was a child's toy, it is one of those educational ones that the kid does not realize he is playing. Teddy is very addicted to getting that squirrel. Even though its squeaker has died. Maybe it is the texture that he likes.
The squirrel material is very durable. The trunk has a slight tear from Teddy sticking his nose in it and pulling it out repeatedly. However it is still small enough that the squirrel doesn't fall out. So in my opinion, the "toy" is not broken because it is still a great puzzle for him. Over all, I love the toy and eventually it will retire to being an outdoor toy. But for now, it has a special place indoors with Teddy.
